About Eugene Buica (The Acting Corps)

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, Eugene Buica is an accomplished actor, writer, and director who studied with Sanford Meisner, Michael Howard, and George Shdanoff. With more than 50 appearances in plays, films, television shows, and commercials, Eugene Buica leverages his extensive experience in the acting industry to lead The Acting Corps, the Los Angeles acting conservatory he founded and currently heads as Artistic Director. An experienced teacher, Eugene Buica judged the TNT Dramatic Auditions National Competition in 2005 and 2006 and has spoken widely on his expertise, most recently appearing on the BBC, MTV, and at Universal Studios. Eugene Buica’s book, 90 Days of Rants, Observations, and Meditations for the Actor, is scheduled for publication next year.

At The Acting Corps, Eugene Buica emphasizes the importance of learning from working professionals. His own experience includes an impressive number of significant roles; with stage appearances that include the Sound of Music on Broadway and a starring role in his own adaptation of the Swan at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. Eugene Buica has appeared on popular television shows such as ER and Days of Our Lives as well as in the award-winning feature films Float and Deception. Over the years, Eugene Buica has also established himself as a distinguished writer and director for both stage and screen. His play Parachute, in which he also starred, received critical accolades from the Los Angeles Times. The 48 Hour Film Project selected his film Frijole as the Best of Los Angeles. Additionally, Eugene Buica co-wrote and directed the feature-length documentary, Mania, as well as a number of projects for Stephen Baldwin’s production company. Eugene Buica currently plays “The Acting Coach” on the hit television series the Pit Boss, and will be appearing on America’s Next Top Model as the acting coach/judge in 2011. in addition, he is developing a television series about acting that he will also executive produce.
